The Rebel Running Guide and Hoodies are NOW AVAILABLE!

Bust out the champagne! And the running shoes! And the colder weather!

After a months of diligent work, a few weeks of chaotic travel and last minute changes, more than a few sleepless nights, and enough caffeine to make Tweak from South Park blush, everything that was supposed to launch today actually launched!  And it was almost on time (just two hours late, a new record for me)!

Staci, Jason, Saint, and Charlotte – this would not have happened without any of you; thank you!

Now, before we jump into today’s awesome announcements, I want to say thanks for being patient with me.   With a new physical product, a new shipping method, a new digital product, and a new store all launching on the same day, I guarantee that SOMETHING will go wrong – it’s inevitable.  If you get charged and an email doesn’t show up immediately, or a link doesn’t work somewhere – I apologize in advance.  Hopefully at this point I’ve earned enough of your trust for you to know that I will do everything in my power to make it right as fast as humanly possible.

So if you don’t feel like reading about any of this crap and you just want to buy your hoodie (seriously, I have never seen a group of people so fired up for a piece of clothing! I am blown away), you can go to the hoodie page here.

PLEASE ALLOW 2-3 WEEKS DELIVERY ON THE HOODIES.

And if you are ready to hop into the Rebel Running Guide, you can visit the sales page here.

And if you don’t want to buy anything – thanks for putting up with me for today, check back on Thursday when things will return to normal!

The Rebel Running Guide

The Rebel Running Guide is now officially available for sale for a discounted price until Thursday.  This marks the officially the third official digital guide available through Nerd Fitness, following in the footsteps of the Rebel Fitness Guide and the Rebel Strength Guide (are you starting to see a pattern?).

I’m going to be honest with you, this might be the guide I’m most proud of.

Running is something that so many people do, and so many people do wrong.  This guide initially started as a small project with Jason Fitz over at Strength Running to help educate the NF community on how to run safely.  Well, over the past few months, it evolved into something far more prominent and epic than I could have expected.

To steal a section from the sales page:

We set out to create the definitive beginner’s guide to running.  We teach you proper running technique, cadence, arm swing, and foot strike so that injuries become a thing of the past.  We teach you specifically what shoes to buy, and how to graduate from one pair to the next.  We tell you how to eat for optimum performance, including detailed advice on how to adjust your diet in the days/hours leading up to a race.  We cover all of the common running injuries, how to avoid them, and how to treat them.

On top of that, we provide you with multiple 10-week daily running programs to keep things interesting, dynamic warm-ups, body weight routines, and core workouts to help you build a strong, injury-free body that is prepared for any other physical activity out there, including but not limited to running a 5K.  We even virtually hold your hand through the entire 5K race process, including sign up, preparation, what to do on race day, how to pace yourself, what to do if there is a cramp, and more.

If you have ever had a question about running, I’d guess we answered it in great detail in the Rebel Running Guide.

There is more to running than just putting on a pair of shoes and clomping down the street.

The Rebel Running Guide aims to cover virtually every possible question you might have.

Head on over to the Rebel Running Guide for all of the details – hopefully you’ll check it out.  As always, it comes with a full money-back guarantee if you’re on the fence.

Another Kick Ass Contest

In honor of this new ebook launch, we’re also kicking off…”Another Kickass Contest,” because everybody seemed to love the last one so much!

Anybody that purchases the Rebel Running Guide between now and Monday, October 3rd, 2011 at 11:59pm est is eligible to enter into Another Kick-Ass Contest where you can win some pretty epic prizes!

Here’s how it works:

After picking up the Rebel Running Guide, you have a full ten weeks to upgrade your running awesomeness and transform yourself. From Monday, Oct 3rd until December 12th, your job is to follow one of the workout and running routines and included in the Rebel Running Guide and upgrade your runs (and possibly transform your body?) to the best of your ability.

Anytime between December 12th and December 15th, email me with your story and results along with your before/after pictures.  At that point, our esteemed panel of judges will take a look at all factors and determine a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place:

1st PLACE

  • Your next pair of running shoes (up to $130 in value)
  • ANY video game you want up to $60 USD – PC, Xbox, Wii, Ps3, whatever – name it and it shall be yours (or a $50 amazon gift certificate)
  • The Paleo Diet for Athletes by Dr Loren Cordain
  • Run Faster by Brad Hudson
  • Born to Run by Chris McDougal
  • 30 days of coaching from Jason to continue your dominance
  • A Nerd Fitness T-shirt and Nerd Fitness Hooded Sweatshirt

2nd PLACE

3rd PLACE

This hopefully isn’t a surprise to you, but we hope to feature as many of these transformations and stories on the website as proof that this guide actually works, which means a few things, contest rules are available at the bottom of the RRG sales page – your welcome email to the guide will have more information.

Combo Deals

Within the next few days, NF will begin offering combo pricing for purchasing multiple Rebel Guides.  For somebody that is looking to pick up two (or all three) ebooks, the combo will offer up a significant discount. Unfortunately, it’s taking me quite a bit of time to move all old content and files and such over from my old service to my new shopping cart software, so it is going to be a day or so (I would bet on Wednesday) before I can offer these combo deals.

Sorry for the delay on this, just want to make sure that everything is working properly.

I’ve received a number of emails about this in the past few days, so hang tight for a few days until we can get everything fixed up!

Hoodies

I seriously started planning for hoodies back in January – I am not kidding.

Yes, it took me that long to finally track down sweatshirts that were of a quality of that lived up to the standards of the Nerd Fitness Rebellion – and I found them!  This might sound weird, but the two NF sweatshirts make me smile just looking at them, and make me even happier wearing them.  The zip-up is stylish and comfortable, and the pullover is thick, comfy, and badass.

You really can’t go wrong with either one.

I’ve made videos of me wearing both so you can kind of see what they look like from all sides.  I am proud to say that I did both of these videos in ONE take – take THAT, Denzel!

These hoodies are now available for $50 with free shipping to anywhere in the United States, or $55 to anywhere in the world.  XXL sweatshirts are $3 more.

Due to the new store set up on NF, I am ordering these sweatshirts in bulk up front, so it helps to know how many of each kind I need to order.  I’m hoping for a quick turnaround as soon as I order them, so I will do everything in my power to get them ordered, printed, and shipped as soon as possible – I would expect them to start shipping within 2-3 weeks.

If you don’t like waiting that long after having paid for something, simply hold off on ordering few a few weeks until we have them in stock!

You can get your sizes and pick your sweatshirts here.

Next steps and thanks

Now that we finally have hoodies and the Rebel Running Guide launched, I can move onto the next few big projects.  Along with cleaning up the store and making everything work better, I’m going to look into the next Rebel shirt – I’m thinking a rebel red performance/moisture-wick shirts and tanktops (I know the NF female population has been looking for these!).

Though there have been multiple requests for capes too!  Probably not now, but who knows what could happen down the road.

On top of that, we’re going to be beefing up the Nerd Fitness community by integrating a cool blogging platform that will allow board members to maintain their own fitness journals and keep track of their challenges there.  We’re also going to be adding chat functionality, as I would LOVE to stop by once or twice a week and chat it up with the amazing people on there.

And then there are a few other unannounced projects in the works…get ready.  To say this is a fun and exciting time to be part of a worldwide rebellion is an understatement.

Finally, I just want to say thanks.  This is my full-time job, and I make my income almost exclusively through things like the Rebel Running Guide and NF sweatshirts.  I haven’t spent a single dollar on any advertising, which means the community’s growth is due to it getting shared amongst friends, coworkers, and family.  Whether you buy anything ever, or nothing never (not grammatically correct but sounded cool) – thank you so much for reading Nerd Fitness, and thanks for passing it along to those who are looking for help.

I feel honored every day to wake up and work on something that I am so passionate about.  I am blown away every time I get an email from a new reader, I can’t help but smile reading tweets like these, and I feel pride every time I hear about members of our community doing something epic (like Staci competing in her first Crossfit competition this past weekend and kicking ass)!

This is truly a special community where amazing things are happening, and I’m happy to be a small part of it.

So, thanks for contributing to the awesomeness.  You rule.

-Steve
