I think you're off in your calculations... keep in mind that human bones can be pretty heavy, so when you subtract the 10% body fat from a 180 lbs. person, the other 162 lbs. aren't all lean muscle (also, we can't forget that the human body is about 60-70% water, which will also account for several pounds, not to mention all of the other sorts of supportive tissues).Still, though, thanks for all the info your blog has provided. I've certainly come across some enlightening articles!

Steve,

I think you’re off in your calculations… keep in mind that human bones can be pretty heavy, so when you subtract the 10% body fat from a 180 lbs. person, the other 162 lbs. aren’t all lean muscle (also, we can’t forget that the human body is about 60-70% water, which will also account for several pounds, not to mention all of the other sorts of supportive tissues).Still, though, thanks for all the info your blog has provided. Training 6 days per week is not the way to gain muscle fast, it's the way to over train fast.Even suppose your training different muscle groups each day and even if there where no over lap between muscle groups eg no chest or triceps involvement when working back, you still aren't allowing for systemic recovery. The only way of recovering from this type of chronic overtraining and gainimuscle is by using AAS, check the acne on the guys shoulders in some scenes from blade 3, for a 30 something, shoulder acne isn't that common especially for someone in good health and physical condition, but I see it a lot on AAS users. Now the point of this isn't to run down Ryan Reynolds, he did what he thought he needed to do on the advice of his so-called 'trainer' and the end result looked impressive on screen which was the whole point.
The problem is the perpetuation of this moronic practise of massive overtraining mitigated by AAS usage, this article just disseminates the same tired, ridiculous information as the likes of flex, mens fitness et al.

I don’t care that you have ‘unlimited resurces’ the resources that matter in terms of muscle growth is your ability to recover and super-compensate from the demands placed upon it by your training and that is definitely not ‘unlimited’.

Training 6 days per week is not the way to gain muscle fast, it’s the way to over train fast.Even suppose your training different muscle groups each day and even if there where no over lap between muscle groups eg no chest or triceps involvement when working back, you still aren’t allowing for systemic recovery. The only way of recovering from this type of chronic overtraining and gainimuscle is by using AAS, check the acne on the guys shoulders in some scenes from blade 3, for a 30 something, shoulder acne isn’t that common especially for someone in good health and physical condition, but I see it a lot on AAS users. Now the point of this isn’t to run down Ryan Reynolds, he did what he thought he needed to do on the advice of his so-called ’trainer’ and the end result looked impressive on screen which was the whole point.<br

Stated above... If you look at him in the film Van Wilder he was just average build - then a few years later he took care of his workout and diet!
